Since our establishment
in 1989, Palais Dance Studio has mounted many public performances
to showcase the talents and achievements of our pupils. Proceeds
of our school concerts are donated to charity.
Our 1st School Concert
was staged at the Drama Centre. Featuring ballet,
modern and tap dance items, we were pleased to
donate the proceeds to the Salvation Army and
the Singapore Children's Society.
Palais Dance Studio
has been invited to mount Christmas, Children's
Day, Grand Opening and Holiday Concerts, at venues
such as Centrepoint, Wisma Atria, Orchard Point,
East Point, IMM and Change Alley.
On invitation from MediaCorp
Channel 8, we presented our dancers at the semi-finals
and grand finals of "Baby Bonanza 2006."
These events are additional
opportunities for selected pupils to gain more
exposure, in a different performing environment.
Staged at the Victoria
Theatre, our 2nd School Concert reached a larger
audience. Performed over two evenings, we donated
the proceeds to the Salvation Army, Singapore
Children's Society and the National Kidney Foundation.
We are privileged that
our senior RAD Ballet pupils were filmed for a
trailer that is shown on CHANNEL NEWSASIA. This
was an eye-opening and exciting event for our
more experienced dancers.
Created with a seasonal
theme, our 3rd School Concert featured items such
as a "Peach Blossoms" children's ballet
in Spring, flamenco dances in Summer, "Winds
of Change" contemporary dance in Autumn,
and "Snowflakes" senior ballet in Winter.
Two performances were staged at the St Joseph's
Institution, and we donated the proceeds to the
Children's Cancer Foundation.
Mattel Southeast Asia Pte
Ltd selected Palais Dance Studio
to mount 24 performances of this Christmas Ballet.
Selected pupils from our RAD Ballet and ISTD Modern
and Tap Dance classes relished the opportunity
to be part of this special event.
Celebrating the 15th Anniversary
of our School, and 35 years of dance teaching
by our Principal, Miss Tan Eng Ai, we staged two
evenings of dance at the ACS Barker Road Concert
Hall. Produced jointly with the Lions Club of
Singapore Aces, proceeds of more than S$38,000.00
were donated to the Lions Homes for the Elders.
