Singapore's Leading Ballet School. Enroll Now for Children's Beginner Ballet Year 1 ( 2012 ) New Class Commencing on Saturday 31 March 2012 !

We have an outstanding track record in classical ballet & dance education, since our establishment at Crown Centre in the Bukit Timah area in 1989. Our ballet school's time-tested curriculum includes pre-school children's beginner ballet programme ( kids age 4 to 6+) through to RAD Vocational Grades ballet syllabus classes, including coaching for RAD ballet examinations, and teaching-practice.

Beginner Ballet is our unique in-house programme for young children, developed by Ms. Tan ( Principal ) to meet the needs and interests of kids taking their first steps in ballet & dance classes. The semi-structured lessons incorporate awareness of good posture, development of gross & fine motor skills, response to music, building of self-confidence, basic ballet steps, creative expression & mime, in an enjoyable setting.

Our Beginner Ballet Year 1 ( 2011 ) class had commenced April 2011, at the start of our ballet school´s current learning year. The class schedule is Saturday at 4.15 to 5.00 p.m. Very limited vacancies are available, for students with prior learning experience - please call to enquire. Appointments may be made for a trial lesson.

To maximise benefit from and enjoyment of our learning programme, we recommend that potential students join us as soon as possible. Our Beginner Ballet Years 1 & 2 classes for children are offered on once-a-week basis, with lessons of 45 minutes duration. This comprehensive foundation equips our students for a seamless transition to the external RAD Grades ballet syllabus, at Pre-Primary in Dance (PPID) level.

Enrollment has commenced for our Beginner Ballet Year 1 ( 2012 ) new class for children. This entry-level new ballet class for kids age 4 to 6+ ( age 4 by 31 December 2012 ) shall commence on Saturday 31 March 2012, at the start of the new 'ballet year' for our school. The class schedule is confirmed as Saturday at 3.15 to 4.00 p.m.

RAD Grades Ballet Syllabus

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the world's most influential dance education and training organisations.The Academy exists to promote knowledge, understanding and practice of dance internationally ( courtesy of the Royal Academy of Dance.)

We offer the RAD Grades and Higher Grades Ballet syllabus classes & examination training. Students may work towards the RAD Class Award, Examination and Presentation Class. Our top pupils have achieved the perfect score of 100% in their ballet exams. We also consistently achieve 100% Passes every year.

Our curriculum includes the new RAD Pre-Primary in Dance ( PPID ) and Primary in Dance ( PID ) syllabus classes. This syllabus captures the imagination of the growing child, builds on the strong foundation achieved through our Beginner Ballet programme, and has been very well received by our students & their families.

The RAD Grade 1 to the Grade 8 Award syllabus includes Classical Ballet, Free Movement and Character Dance. Pupils learn to appreciate the nuances of other dance genres, and this enriches their dance & movement experience.

Attended by students who have undergone substantial training, the RAD Vocational Grades ballet examination syllabus offer a greater challenge for pre-professionals, and paves the way towards a possible career in dance and related fields.

Pointe work is a prominent feature of the female syllabus, while male dancers build on their virtuosity especially in pirouettes ( turns ) and allegro ( jumps.) We offer the following RAD Vocational Grades ballet classes :

RAD Intermediate Foundation: Wednesday 5.15 to 6.45 p.m.

RAD Advanced 1: Monday 8.00 to 10.00 p.m.

Professional Endeavors

3 of our senior female dancers and 4 guest male dancers joined our Vice-Principal, Miss Teo, in "The Merry Widow" operatta, which was staged at the University Cultural Centre ( UCC ) in September 2004. His Excellency, President S R Nathan, was the Guest of Honour for this production by the Singapore Lyric Opera ( SLO.) This was Miss Teo's 3rd collaboration with Singapore only professional western opera company - she had also choreographed and performed in its 1998 & 2002 productions of Bizet's "Carmen".

On 1 September 2007, Miss Teo had coached MediaCorp star Fann Wong
on set for her ballet scene in the "Dance of the Dragon" movie.

Miss Teo has also coached Melvin & Sharon, who were Top 3
Finalists in The DanceFloor competition televised on
MediaCorp Channel 5, in 2007.
